Mellisa Olive

Melissa Adorno Olive is an attorney who was born and raised in state of New York. At a young age she had already known the career path she wanted to embark on. Her intuitive and analytic mind may have led her to an interest in the law, but it was her heart that created the drive she had to pursue it. Melissa attended the State University of New York at Potsdam where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science. While attending SUNY Potsdam she was a part of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, studied abroad in Dubrovnik, Croatia where she learned about the  Dissolution of Yugoslavia and International Conflict, and participated in projects where she would help understand local residents political affiliations and voting pedigree. After taking a gap year she enrolled in the Charleston School of Law, where she spent three years working as a law clerk for personal injury and real estate law firms in the city of Charleston. Soon after she graduated, Melissa found herself working at a family law firm while preparing for the bar exam. Family law was not something she had ever envisioned for herself but, to her surprise, she grew a deep passion for helping families navigate one of the most difficult times in their lives. She finally felt fulfilled and as though she was truly making a difference helping others who may either feel lost, confused, or stuck. Melissa joined the Family Law Center for Men in March of 2024, helping husbands and fathers throughout the State of Alaska. Her ability to maintain a cool steady hand while also expressing empathy towards her clients has helped her better advocate for them. She understands that despite the stress and trauma this area of law may bring, she is available to weed out the noise and resolve the root issue that each case holds. Her goal is to be the light at the end of the tunnel for her clients.
